Experts recommend at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. However, eating this many fruits and vegetables on top of the daily recommended amount of protein, healthy fats, and carbs is quite difficult. In fact, less than 14% of the population consumes 5 or more servings of fruits and veggies on a daily basis.
Because of this, supplementing the diet with an organic greens supplement is a healthy way to get more of the natural vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fibre and phytonutrients the body needs for energy, metabolism, digestion, detoxification, fat-burning, repair, and recovery.
Consuming enough fruits and vegetables can help to reduce the following:
- High blood cholesterol
- High blood pressure
- Cardiovascular disease
- Type 2 diabetes
- Various cancers
It is important to note that greens supplements are not a substitute for actual food. Greens supplements should be used in addition to real foods to help you get the vitamins and nutrients you need.
