Hey, thanks for visiting!

My name is Brian Donovan and I am the owner of Online Fitness Coach.

While I do cover a variety of topics here, much of what I focus on is geared towards simplifying fitness and nutrition for busy men and women. So if you’re looking to lose weight and build lean muscle without living in the gym or starving yourself… you’ve come to the right place.

For those interested, I am a graduate of the National Personal Training Institute, a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a Poliquin BioSignature Practitioner, a CrossFit Certified Coach, and a Precision Nutrition Certified Coach. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a minor in Business from Michigan State University.

In 2014, I was voted Chicago’s “Best Personal Trainer” by Chicago Reader magazine, Best Of Chicago edition.

And I’ve been featured in a variety of media publications such as Muscle & Fitness, Voyage Chicago, and Ezine Articles.

My main objective with Online Fitness Coach is to not just educate, but empower you with the tools and the confidence to incorporate a fitness and nutrition plan that suits your lifestyle.

Training and nutrition stuff aside…

I love climbing, traveling with my girlfriend Liz, rough housing with my dog Bumper, and spending time with friends and family.

Below is my own personal transformation…

When I took my first corporate job 12 years ago, I gained almost 20 pounds within my first year.

I commuted from the city to the suburbs. My gym was not close – I had a dog that needed to be walked every morning and evening – I was lucky if I ever got more than 6 hours of sleep. I told myself I just had no time to workout.

But the real issue was I had no system in place to ensure my own health was a priority.

To keep a long story short, after a lot of trial and error, I found a system that worked and I lost the 20 pounds I’d gained pretty quickly. The best part was and still is, I didn’t have to give up the things I enjoy like wine and pizza.

Over the last 5 years, I have been fortunate enough to use this same system to help busy men and women all over the world achieve amazing results online, and I’ve done it not through gimmicks or magic pills, but by understanding my clients needs, communicating, and developing the right plan for each individual.
